Meet the Farmers Who Grow Your Food at the 4th Annual Passport Weekend

Tehama County is situated in the fertile northern Sacramento Valley and is host to a rich and diverse ecosystem, which yields some of the finest food in the world. Many of these crops are grown by the Tehama Trail farmers, who you will get a chance to meet during the 4th Annual Tehama Trail Passport Weekend – an agricultural tour across Tehama County, held June 7 and 8.

Below is a list of the farms you will visit as well as information about the crops your farmers produce.

Valley Farms & Ranches

Tehama Oaks Vineyard & Winery handcrafts sophisticated red blends, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and elegant whites like Viognier, Roussanne and a Rhone blend. Tehama Oaks is Red Bluff’s only winery.

Pacific Sun Olive Oil is a division of Pacific Sun Farms & Orchards, a third-generation family farm. The Flynn family produces award-winning olive oils and balsamic vinegars as well as prunes, walnuts, almonds and olives.

TX Bar Organics is a family-owned and -operated ranch that raises 100% USDA certified organic, grass-fed, grass-finished, Black Angus beef. TX Bar products include stew meat, roasts, ground beef, custom-cut steaks and jerky.

Julia’s Fruit Stand offers fresh, handpicked produce including peaches, nectarines, apricots and a huge variety of heirloom tomatoes during spring and summer, pumpkins and gourds during fall.

Burlison’s Fruit Stand has been family owned and operated since 1948, making it Tehama County’s oldest fruit stand. Burlison’s offers seasonal fresh fruit and veggies, local honey, nuts, and some of the best peaches in the area.

Bianchi Orchards Walnuts & Wine produces premium Chandler walnuts. The Bianchi family sells walnuts, prunes, walnut oil and local handcrafted products at their classic 1920s barn.

Corning Olive Oil produces quality extra virgin olive oil that has gained the acceptance of gourmet chefs with its smooth, fruity and naturally delicious flavor, and beautiful color.

Country Haven at the Red Barn is a specialty food market that offers a large selection of local walnuts, pistachios, almonds, handcrafted jams, fudge and candied fruits.

Antelope Creek Gourmet Dressings is a family-owned and -operated business that sources local, natural ingredients to create a flavorful line of sauces like Apricot, Blackberry, Pear, No-Sugar-Added Pomegranate and Raspberry.

New Clairvaux Vineyard is located in Vina at the Abbey of New Clairvaux and is run by a community of Cistercian monks. New Clairvaux handcrafts varietal wines like Petite Sirah, Syrah and Viognier.

Lucero Olive Oil is a third-generation olive grower producing some of California’s finest olives and EVOOs including blends, single-varietals and citrus-flavored oils. Lucero also offers balsamic vinegars, mustards and tapenades.

Burnsini Vineyards in Cottonwood produces five estate-bottled varietal wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Sangiovese, and a bold red blend.

Olive Pit is a gourmet market, deli and tasting room in Corning. Family owned and operated since 1967, Olive Pit features a variety of olives, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, nuts, candy, craft beer and wine.

A&R Meats in Red Bluff is a custom butchering shop featuring a full retail meat counter, fresh produce, deli meats, cheese, bread, meat packs and seafood. Custom ordering is always welcome.

Turri Family Farms produces real, wholesome food through sustainable and responsible ranching methods. The Turri family offers grass-fed, grass-finished beef that’s hormone and antibiotic free.

Manton Vineyards & Wineries

Indian Peak Vineyards is a family-owned and -operated Manton winery offering exceptional wines like Cabernet Sauvingon, Merlot, Abstract Red (blend of Syrah and Zinfandel), Port, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Alger Vineyards in Manton has a passion for making great wines from superb, estate grown grapes. Alger carefully handcrafts Petite Sirah and Syrah wines that are aged in French and American oak.

Mt. Tehama Winery is an independent winery in Manton that practices sustainable, pesticide-free farming. Mt. Tehama specializes in Rhone varietals produced from handpicked grapes.

Cedar Crest Vineyards in Manton produces small batches of award-winning wines including Petite Sirah, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Tempranillo on four acres of volcanic vineyards.

Shasta Daisy Vineyards is a family-owned and -operated vineyard in Manton. Carroll and Lorna Knedler craft quality wines like Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling from hand-harvested grapes grown in rich volcanic soils.

While exploring the Trail you will have a chance to enter the raffle and silent auction for a chance to win prizes donated by Rolling Hills Casino, Lucero Olive Oil, Mt. Tehama Winery and local craftspeople!

Passport Raffle

Get five stops stamped on your passport and enter the Passport Raffle by leaving your stamped passport in the raffle box at the last stop on the tour.

Silent Auction

Bianchi Orchards will he hosting a silent auction. All proceeds go toward the marketing of local producers and Tehama County Ag Tourism.

The 4th Annual Passport Weekend is June 7 and 8, from 10 am to 5 pm. All tickets include free sampling at each location and a trendy tote bag. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Purchase tickets at participating farms, Enjoy the Store or online here.
