Growing Local, Healthy Shasta and First United Methodist Church present a premiere screening of the film, “A Place at the Table” Saturday evening. From the creators of “Food, Inc.”, this documentary asks the question “Why are almost 50 million Americans hungry and why are 23 million kids overweight and hungry too?”
Shasta County is one of just 24 locations around the country selected to be part of the national “Take Your Place Social Action Campaign” to ignite conversations and spur action around solutions to our nation’s and our community’s hunger and obesity epidemic.
What – ‘A Place At The Table’
When – Saturday, September 21 at 6pm, doors open at 5:30
Where – First United Methodist Church, 1835 East Street, Redding
Immediately following the film, there will be a panel discussion and reception
This free event is a benefit for the Shasta Food Group. Donations of healthy canned foods are appreciated.
