Matt Grigsby was born and raised in Redding but has often felt he should have been born in Italy. By day he's a computer analyst toiling for the public good and by night he searches airline websites for great travel deals. His interests include books, movies, prowling thrift shops for treasure and tricking his friends into cooking for him. One day he hopes to complete his quest in finding the best gelato shop in Italy.

Really, Matt!! REALLY??? I realize you were making some sort of social statement, but a dumpster? It is pretty amazing how we humans seem to be able to deface even the most beautiful things Mother Nature has to give us.

I wasn't aiming for a social statement, I swear. I actually found the ugliness of the dumpster as a fascinating contrast with the incredible and simple beauty of the landscape. And when the sun started to shine from behind those clouds, everything was washed with this gold light and I feel it somehow beautified even the dumpster.

      It honestly gave me goosebumps.

Matt, I thought the same as you. This pic makes even a garbage dumpster look good 🙂

Wwwweeeeeellll . . . . if you say so . . . . Maybe a little less dumpster and a little more golden hills. It's all in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?

I did get one of just the sunset and hills, sans dumpster, but it was just a little too ordinary. This one spoke to me more!
