New General Manager of KIXE, Michael Lampella

The Board of Directors of KIXE TV is pleased to announce that on December 7, 2012,  Michael Lampella, KIXE employee of 33 years,  is now acting as the new General Manager.

Michael J. Lampella, General Manager, has included other job titles over the past 33 years at KIXE: Operation’s Manager, Assistant Program Manager, Traffic Manager and Master Control Technician.

While performing these responsibilities he was also an adjunct instructor at Shasta College (1993-2002), teaching a Beginning TV Production class at the KIXE studio. He has been the station’s facilitator for major U.S. Department of Commerce grants (1992 translators; 1996 transmitter; and 2000-production equipment;).

He has contributed to the community by serving as a Telecommunications Advisory Committee member for the Shasta-Trinity Regional Occupational Program (2000-2003), Career & Technical Education Advisory Committee member for Shasta Union High School District (2003-2004), previously served as an advisory board member with the Salvation Army in Redding and currently serves on the local American Cancer Society, Survivors Committee, Relay For Life in Redding.

He has lived in Redding since 1960. He graduated from Shasta Union High School in 1970, received an AA Degree in Fire Science from Shasta College, went on to California State University, Chico, and earned a BA degree in Information and Mass Communications in 1978.  He interned at KIXE-TV in the spring of 1979 and became an employee in the summer of 1979.
