Lakehead Area ‘Coal Fire’ Evacuations Lifted

According to KRCR,  the “Coal Fire” has consumed 160 acres in the Lakehead area off Interstate 5 and Gilman Road north of Redding.

 The fire is moving in a northeast direction, and is present on both sides of I-5. About 20 homes and structures were threatened. previous evacuations at Lakeview Dr. and Ycotti Creek Road have been lifted.

 CAL FIRE is assisting the US Forest Service in battling the fire, 5 miles south of Lakehead in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
