Buenaventura and Starlight Brush Fire – Structure Threatened

A brush fire in the area of Canyon Road, Buenaventura Blvd. and Starlight in west Redding threatened a structure at the 3000 block of Brian Court.

    I believe the eastern slope above Buenaventura that burned had been previously treated in the winter by brush cutting and burning in stacks the last few years. I think this may have kept the fire low and out of the tree crowns. This may have saved the houses on the ridge tops.

    I hope there is more of this winter preventive activity in the surrounding canyons.
