On Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at approximately 2:53 a.m., a Redding Police officer attempted to make an arrest on a male suspect wanted on multiple arrest warrants in the 1000 block of Mountain Shadow Blvd. The suspect fled on foot and escaped. The suspect was identified as Prince Kurtiss Cheatham, age 26, of Redding.
At approximately 0820 hours, Officer Dean Adams observed Cheatham in the area of the 500 block of Buckeye Terrace. When Officer Adams attempted to contact Cheatham, Cheatham ran southbound into the canyon area toward Lost Lane. Officer Adams chased after Cheatham and lost sight of him on Lost Lane.
Additional Redding Police Officers responded to the area of Lost Lane and set a perimeter to search for Cheatham.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., Redding Police Officer Doug Moore #146 found Cheatham hiding inside an abandoned vehicle on Lost Lane. Cheatham was taken into custody and booked at the Shasta County jail on two felony warrants, one misdemeanor arrest and resisting arrest. The two felony warrants were for failure to appear on a narcotic offense and failure to appear on an evading police in a motor vehicle offense.
