Sheriff Questions Cause of Round Mountain Husband’s Death

LOCATION: 15000 block of Kaweah Road, Round Mountain, California
VICTIM(S): Unnamed 52-year-old caucasian male

SYNOPSIS:  On 07/25/2011, Monday, at 2117 hours (9:17 p.m.), a female reported to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office regarding the possible suicide of her husband. The female stated she had been in an altercation with her husband just prior to hearing gunshots.

At 2140 hours (9:40 p.m.), deputies from the Burney station arrived on scene. Paramedics had confirmed the male subject was deceased in the residence.

Shortly thereafter, the female subject was transported to the sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit in Redding for further questioning in the death of her husband.

Currently, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab is processing the scene for evidence and the case is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit. The male’s cause of death is still under investigation, pending conclusion of the Coroner’s Office medical examination. The names of the female and the decedent are being withheld until further information regarding the case is known.
