A vocal jazz and show choir camp for students ages 12 to 18 will rock the College of the Siskiyous campus this summer. “They sing, they dance, they bond, and they put on a show at the end of the week that wows audiences year after year,” said Elaine Schaefer, camp director.

The Vocal Jazz Show/Choir Clinic provides students with a highly-rewarding, intensive week-long opportunity to study with three of the most respected jazz and show choir directors, composers, and choreographers in the United States today:

  • Award-winning composer and choral music educator, Roger Emerson. With over 500 titles in print, and 20 million copies in circulation, Roger Emerson is one of the most widely performed choral composers in America today. Emerson received his degree in music education from Southern Oregon University, and served as music specialist for 12 years in the Mount Shasta Public School system. Constantly in demand as a lecturer on choral methods, Emerson now divides his time between composing, arranging, lecturing, and teaching at COS. He currently resides in Mount Shasta, California.
  • Greg Jasperse is a Los Angeles based pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger. He has conducted several all-state honors vocal jazz choirs across North America. Greg’s published works have been performed internationally. He participates in numerous jazz and show choir camps in the U.S. and Canada and serves as a clinician and guest artist at various international festivals. Greg recently released his first commercial recording “Tournesol.”
  • A resident of Branson, MO, Jarad Vossis a freelance choreographer and performer specializing in hip-hop and urban jazz styles. A former dance captain and performer in the Wisconsin Singers and Six Flags Great America, Chicago, Jarad has also danced for different festivals, musicals, and industrials, including Miller Genuine Draft and Rayovac. A clinician and choreographer at Show Choir Camps of America, Show Choir Camp Europe, and UW-Shell Lake Show Choir Camp, Jarad teaches at clinics and choreographs many show choirs and dance troupes throughout the nation.
