What: Free Breast Cancer Screening for Women 40+

Early detection is critical in treating breast cancer. The Mercy Regional Cancer Center will host a free breast cancer screening for qualifying women 40 years of age and older who meet the eligibility requirements for the Every Woman Counts – Breast Cancer Early Detection Program. The screening will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2011.
Breast cancer screening involves three components:
- Mammogram – an X-ray of your breasts can be a powerful way to detect breast cancer in its earliest, most treatable stage.
- Breast Self Examination Education – provided by a Mercy oncology nurse.
- Clinical Breast Examination – a physician or affiliated health care provider will conduct the examination.
