This month, the Red Bluff First Friday Art Event features popular artist and Shasta College art instructor, Christie Higgins, showing her new works in the Window Gallery.

These watercolors explore how light abstraction intertwines with the colors inside and out of Koi ponds. Click here to read a recent interview and catch a glimpse of some of Christie’s new work.

The Main Hall features “Gyotaku,” the Japanese Art of Fish Printing, by Redding’s Andrew Jensen. These works use real fish to make the art print. You’ve never seen perch, grayling, salmon, steelhead or striped bass used in this way.

The party starts at 5 P.M. at the Red Bluff Art Gallery.
