What: The first Cycle Shasta event
When: Saturday (June 4) 1 to 4 p.m.

Cycle Shasta, a free family event, will include a Bicycle Rodeo with a bicycle equipment repair and adjustment station, a fun safety course and bike blender smoothies. The event will also feature an open mountain bike course for all ages, ongoing BMX workshops and freestyle BMX demonstrations and an official BMX race. Loaner helmets and bikes will also be available for individuals who want to participate.
“We look forward to kids of all ages coming out for a great day of fun activities. Bicycling is a great way for families to get outdoors and be active. Bicycling is a wonderful way to introduce young people to active sports,” said city of Redding Vice Mayor Dick Dickerson. “BMX riders are as young as three and no one rides the bench in BMX!”
The Cycle Shasta event is sponsored by the city of Redding, city of Shasta Lake, Healthy Shasta, NorCal Boomtown Race Track, Ride On Race Series and RDG BMX.
