Local redistricting efforts are underway in Shasta County and the community’s participation is welcome, Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Cathy Darling Allen announced this week.
Shasta County Citizens Redistricting Advisory Committee members have expressed their sincere desire to hear from the public regarding the process of equalizing the population in each of the County’s Supervisorial Districts, Darling said.
Public comment is encouraged at any future meeting, or can be made by mail to the address above or by email to countyclerk@co.shasta.ca.us.
Additionally, Shasta County residents who believe they live in a Community of Interest are strongly encouraged to complete the attached information and submit it for consideration to the Committee.
Community of Interest Input forms should be received by May 13th, 2011.
Committee meetings began this month and take place each Thursday in the 2nd floor conference room at the Shasta County Elections Office, located at 1643 Market St in the Market Street Promenade.
The next meeting is Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 10 a.m.
