A Cascade Christmas has become a tradition for many and the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. This 90-minute dancing and singing musical revue features beautiful backdrops, hundreds of costumes, live animals, a heartwarming nativity and a snow experience the whole family will remember, starring a cast of forty talented performers dancing and singing to some of your favorite holiday tunes. The Dance Project’s A Cascade Christmas is full of surprises.
“The Boy Friend” is based in the French Riviera in the 1920s, where Polly (played by Jeni Schwartz) is an English heiress attending the finishing school run by Madame Dubonnet (Francesca LiVolsi). She falls in love with delivery boy Tony (Tariq Malik). Recalling her father’s warning to beware fortune seekers, she poses as a working girl, unaware that Tony is the missing son of the wealthy Lord Brockhurst. Things get complicated with the unexpected arrival of Polly’s parents and Lord and Lady Brockhurst (Derek Yorton and Esther Brueckner-Leech). The show is directed by M. Romney Clements, with musical direction by Brad Fowers and choreography by James Santos. Assistant director is Melissa Gulden. “The Boy Friend” was written by Sandy Wilson and is presented through special arrangement with Musical Theater International.
The U-Prep studio will feature group works, sculpture and assorted student pieces.
