What: The Igo Inn Spaghetti Feed and Pie Auction

Why: A trust-fund benefit for the late Rich Buck’s young sons, Spenser and Harrison.

When: 5 p.m., Fri. Aug. 28

Where: The Igo Inn, 13976 South Fork Rd., Igo, Calif.

Donation: $7.50 per plate

Menu: Spaghetti, salad, bread pudding and garlic bread. (To-go boxes will be available for those who can’t stay and eat at the restaurant.)

Why: A show of friendship and support for chef Rich Buck’s widow, Chris Bennor, and their young sons. The family purchased the Igo Inn in March, invested about $100,000 in improvements in the building, and was ready for the grand opening Aug. 19. Rich Buck died suddenly a few days before.

What else: Money tree. “The community is just aching for them,” Brad Maloney said. “We just want to do something to help.”
