The good folks at Redding’s Maritime Seafood & Grill have invited some local luminaries to be guest bartenders on Friday nights, and this Friday features our pals Lee and Judy Salter.
I’ve seen those two pour drinks before, and predict that Maritime owners Morgan and Unni Song will take a loss on the night. Heh.
A News Cafe’s own Doni Greenberg and Kelly Brewer will be Maritime’s guest bartenders on March 20.
• Kick the Habit: Mercy Medical Center is offering free quit-smoking classes, beginning March 10. The evening classes — eight sessions — are taught by a certified Quit for Good instructor. For more information, call 246-3729 or click here.
• Craigslist Fun: From the “baby and kid stuff” section comes this item:
Nice white kids dresser (5 drawer) $20 – (Anderson)
I don’t care how nice those kids are, I don’t see any reason to bring race into this.
• Such literal interpretation reminds of my favorite traffic sign: Slow Children at Play. Without fail, I always say, “They should keep the slow children out of the street.” It’s truly a wonder that my wife has put up with me for 25 years.
