It’s been seven years this month since I moved here (the number “seven” seems to be a magic number in life; Seven Days of Creation, Seven Seals of Revelation, Seven Days of the Week, Seven Deadly Sins, The Seven Samurai, The Seven Year Itch…).
I was leafing through some of my old sketchbooks from my first weeks and thought it might be fun to share some of these doodles. These were my first impressions as an expat (with my own, er, anthropomorphic spin, of course). I offer these few pages as light entertainment and as an insight to a novice American In Paris… without the Gershwin score as background filler.
P.S. Some of these characters are still here at the same cafe…
…with the same cup of coffee.
