I won't be able to use it for another 3 months or so (recovering from surgery) but really looking forward to a practice facility that includes more than a driving range.

A firearm is an inanimate object, no different from a baseball bat, ax, cleaning chemicals, etc. What difference does it make which object the murderer intentionally misused?
