In reply to Steve Towers. It's irrationally hoplophobic, to say nothing of unconstitutional. A firearm is an inanimate object, no different from a baseball bat, ax, cleaning chemicals, etc. What difference does it make which object the murderer intentionally misused? Enhancing unrelated penalties to discourage/denormalize constitutionally protected activities (i.e. gun ownership) is a clear infringement. […]
