Popular Crawdad Festival Returns to Rolling Hills Casino

Excitement is building at Rolling Hills Casino as preparations are underway for the 2nd Annual MardiCraw Festival to support local efforts to increase tourism in Tehama County. This year’s Mardi-Craw Festival is April 4th from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Rolling Hills Casino, and features all you can eat crawdads, plus beer and wine tasting, a crafts show, and live entertainment.

Last year’s festival attracted 1,700 people from all over Northern California and raised $20,500 for the Tehama County Chamber of Commerce to promote local businesses, events, and attractions.

“Tourism is an important source of revenue for Tehama County,” said Dave Gowan, Chamber President. “In addition to raising money to promote tourism, the Mardi-Craw is an important tourist event, introducing our area to people who have never been here before. It’s great exposure for Tehama County and brings additional tourist dollars into the area’s business economy.”

“We partner with the County Chamber of Commerce to host this event because it has a huge impact on the vitality of our area, and it showcases our Casino’s many ammenities,” said Scott Chandler, Marketing Director of Rolling Hills Casino.

The festival is a big commitment of time and resources for Rolling Hills Casino. The Casino’s chefs prepare all the food, staff members help with the event-coordination, and the Casino provides the entertainment. “Our entire staff works really hard to make this event a huge success for our community,” said Rosenbalm. “I’m really proud of their dedication to ensure the event is as memorable as it is successful.”

Mardi-Craw tickets are $30 and are available online at www.rollinghillscasino.com. Individuals must be 21 and over to attend. Last year’s crawdad festival sold out and those who plan to attend this year are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to ensure admittance.
