Vineyard City Church is hosting a chili contest fundraiser to benefit Rother Elementary School on Sat. Nov. 1. The chili contest winner will take home $250 in prize money.
The event is from 3-6 p.m. at Rother Elementary School, 795 Hartnell Avenue in Redding.
Free “house” chili (not the contest chili) will be served at the event, as well as cornbread, salad and beverages. There is no cost to enter the chili contest. To register go to reddingvineyard.com.
Donations will be accepted at the chili contest, with the goal to raise $5,000 for Rother Elementary School classroom supplies. All donations to the event are tax deductible.
A little background:
Vineyard City Church has committed to investing in the future by helping Rother Elementary School in Redding.
Some of the ways in which the Vineyard City Church has helped Rother Elementary School includes funding a drum class for students, purchasing Christmas gifts for eight needy families, and a work day at the Rother campus that tackled painting bathrooms, planting flowers and drought-resistant plants, putting up basketball nets, purchasing new playground equipment and outfitting the softball team with new gear.
