The number of homes sold in California rose 83 percent last month compared with the same month last year, says the California Association of Realtors.
Santa Barbara had the highest median home price in the state, at $897,500 for a single-family home, followed by San Francisco at $640,000. San Mateo ranked fourth at $630,000. San Ramon was seventh at $560,000, followed by Redwood City at $550,000.
