Well, no, it’s not the third sketch of the day, but it is the third Sketch of the Day. You would think they would start getting better, but no such luck. Still, you have to admire my stick-to-itiveness.
This one features the beloved (OK, well-liked…OK, OK, the tolerated) Yux Fritter, The Musical Cowpoker and his trusty, rusty side-kick, Scabby Crackers. You can’t tell in this episode but I usually draw Yux barefoot. Readers have pointed out that in the rugged terrain of the Old West a barefoot cowboy would have a rough go of it. But our hero Yux has a theory. All of the other fictional rough riders he’s known have all, “died with their boots on.” This may sound noble to some people but to sane, logical cowpokers like Yux, a sure way to beat the reaper is to make sure you DON’T have your boots on. You have to admit, you can’t possibly die with your boots on if you’re barefoot, right?
Go ahead, prove Yux wrong. You can’t, can you? He’s still pluggin’ while more well-heeled desperados are pushing up daisies.
Anyway, here’s the dumb sketch…
