On December 21, 2025, at approximately 1745 hours, the Shasta County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, California regarding an individual who died as a result of the severe flooding. The subject was pronounced deceased at the hospital by emergency personnel.
The decedent has been positively identified as 74–year-old Richard Michael Wilsey of Redding, California. The decedent’s next–of–kin has been notified and a postmortem examination will be scheduled. This case remains under investigation by the Redding Police Department, and the Shasta County Coroner’s Office.
