Shasta County Information Officer David Maung Moves on to PG&E

David Maung

Shasta County Information Officer David Maung has announced he’s moving on from
the position he’s held since Oct. 2022. His last day is Friday, June 6.

“I’ve made the decision to step away from my role at Shasta County to accept a position
as a Government Affairs Representative with PG&E, serving Shasta, Tehama, and
Glenn counties,” Maung said. “I’m grateful that I’ll still be engaged in and serving this
community.”

Maung earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies from Queen’s
College, City University of New York, in 2011. He served as the livestream director at
Bethel Church from 2016 to 2019 and marketing and public relations manager at Turtle
Bay from 2020 to 2022 before becoming county spokesman.

“It has been an honor to work alongside the dedicated staff at Shasta County,” Maung
said. “County departments work hard every day to provide essential services to
residents, and I’m proud to have supported their efforts and helped share their impact
with the public.”

“I’m thankful for the experience and look forward to continuing to serve our region in a
new capacity,” Maung concluded.
