At a breakfast awards ceremony April 21 at the Win-River Casino Event Center, the Smart Business Resource Center presented awards to 2010’s Best Companies to Work for in Shasta County. The winners are:
Nonprofit: Turtle Bay Exploration Park, 1335 Arboretum Dr., Suite A in Redding
Large Company 51+ employees: Bank of Commerce-Redding, 1951 Churn Creek Rd. in Redding
Mid-size Company 16-50 employees: Shasta QA, 1538 Market Street, Suite 15 in Redding
Small Companies 1-15 employees: Ochoa & Shehan Builders, Inc., 3075 Crossroads Drive in Redding
Also honored at the event were: A Brand New Day Assisted Living, Remi Vista, Inc., FedEx Express, LifeHelp, Hill Country Health & Wellness Center, Members 1st Credit Union, Scarborough Office Design, Northern California Rehabilitation Hospital and Shasta Community Health Center for the heartfelt nominations submitted by their employees.
Previous winners recognized as “Best Companies to Work For in Shasta County” are Rush Personnel, Datawise, Inc, Redding Rancheria, American Medical Bill Review, Spectrum Orthotics and Prosthetics, Pre-employ.com, T-Shirts Unlimited, Apex Technology Management and North Valley Bank. The Smart Center has been putting people to work in Shasta County since 1979.
Realizing that this mission depends on companies that are hiring, and understanding that a healthy business community creates economic vitality, Smart has worked hard to better understand the challenges businesses face.
In doing so, Smart discovered great things happening in local companies, large and small. From that discovery, Best Companies to Work For in Shasta County was born and the first awards were presented in 2007.
Since establishing this effort, Smart has identified many examples of great work environments, cost-effective hiring, employee training opportunities, and exemplary customer service – and hopes to be the catalyst in sharing these examples and helping every company become the best it can be.
Shasta County truly is a great place to live and work and Smart is proud to showcase local practices that create the best companies to work for in Shasta County!
