A reception to meet participating artists and preview works that will be up for bid during the annual KIXE Invitational Art and Wine Auction will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the KIXE Studio, 603 N. Market St. in Redding.

The reception, which features refreshments and live music by the Tony Armsdon jazz trio, will be part of the second Saturday ArtHop.

Hand-blown glass pieces from the renowned Orient & Flume, Cherry Tree Studios and Paul Crosbie, all of Chico, as well as oil paintings, watercolors, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry and Oriental rugs will be on display. One of the featured works is a stunning print of Ireland’s Sleigh Head coastline by Redding attorney and fine-art photographer Dennis Halkides. The print measures an impressive 72 by 43 inches.

Wine lovers will get a chance to preview varietals and dessert wines donated by local vintners, including Vidal, Matson, Burnsini and Lassen Peak.

The select wines and one-of-a-kind works by more than 60 artists will be up for bid Friday and Saturday, April 23-24.
