Cypress School Penny Drive Benefits Haiti

cypress_penny_drive1

What: Cypress School Penny Drive to Benefit Haiti Relief Fund

Where: Cypress Elementary School

When: The month of February

Details: The school invites everyone to contribute their pennies to the Haiti relief fund.
Background: The annual penny drive coincides each year with President Lincoln’s birthday, which teaches students about Lincoln – who appears on the penny – as well as other presidents on other American currency. The school collected $400 during last year’s penny drive, and was used to purchase new playground equipment. This year’s penny drive will help support the Haiti relief fund.

How to contribute: Bring your pennies to Cypress Elementary School’s front office at 2150 Civic Center Drive in Redding. Those who wish to donate other money may make checks payable to the Cypress Parent Club, with “Haiti Relief Fund” in the memo.
