Birther Bullroar and Other Stupidity

I am continually amazed and dumbfounded at the willingness of some people to insist in clinging to ridiculous non-issues instead of trying to engage in a real discussion of what is going on in this country.

At the head of this table sit the so-called Birthers who insist that President Obama is not the legitimate president of this country because he was not a natural born American citizen.

In the first place, the argument is stupid.  The law is clear that someone born anywhere in the world is an American citizen by birth if either of their parents is an American citizen. Those of you who are interested should rustle up paper and pencil because I will tell you how to look this up for yourself in a minute.  But the people who are engaged in this argument seem to think that Obama is trying to pull a fast one by saying he was born in Hawaii.  That makes no sense at all.  I think I was born in Yreka because that is what my mother told me and because that is what it says on my birth certificate.  I have no memory of the event.

All President Obama or you can do is repeat what you have been told if you are asked where you were born.  But, as I said, it makes no difference.  Go to Findlaw.com and look up  a case called Breyer v. Meissner 214 F 3d. 416 (2000).  It says a guy born in Germany to an American mother was an American from birth.

By the way, did you know that John McCain was not born in the United States?  He was born in Panama.  So did we have a race between two foreigners?  Or is this all just Bull roar?
