The McConnell Foundation, in partnership with Jason Munson, operator of Tierra Oaks Golf Club, is opening a new driving range on October 1, 2026.
The Range at Lake Redding is Phase 1 of the redevelopment of the former Lake Redding Golf Course. Work in recent months has focused on repairing the drainage and irrigation, refreshing the club house, and constructing the range pad. The Range will provide golfers with a place to practice their scoring clubs with their drivers in a setting conducive to long and short golf shots.
The Range will be open to the public Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. until one hour before dusk. Balls will be available for $10 (small bucket), $12 (medium bucket), and $15 (large bucket). Golfers must bring their own clubs. Up to 23 golfers will be able to hit balls simultaneously.
The greens are also being upgraded to provide practice areas for golfers to play short games, for lessons to be provided, and for developing golf skills among youth.
According to Munson, “The reason for opening a driving range sooner rather than later is that there is a demand for more driving range opportunities, and this course can be activated at the same time it is being developed for future golf opportunities.”
The McConnell Foundation’s goal remains to keep this property as a public golf-related recreational asset for generations to come.
