Tom Toller, Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters wishes to inform the public and the media the election results were updated on November 22th at 6:30pm on our website. We will release the next update on November 27th at 6pm.
Voters who receive signature verification letter requesting additional information must cure their ballot by December 1st. Instructions on how to respond to the request are included in the signature verification letter.
Below is a report on the estimated count of unprocessed ballots that we have in our office. It is just that, an estimate. We are still processing these ballots, including verifying the signature and the eligibility of the voter. There may be ballots added to this count or removed as necessary.
We would like to remind the public that all ballot types in this election have 2 ballot cards. When calculating the number of ballots that are counted, the system utilizes Ballot Card A to document the number of registered voters that voted. This means that the number of damaged cards does not accurately reflect the entirety of the situation with the ballots that were rejected due to the print overspray. Ballot Card B has a higher rejection rate than Ballot Card A. We have included a separate line that estimates the number of Ballot Card B’s that are rejected and waiting for duplication.
Thank you for your patience.
Seventh Estimated Unprocessed Ballot Report

We have been alerted that there may be some confusion about language on our website that states “100% of precincts reporting.” This refers specifically to ballots cast at the polling place on Election Day only. It allows voters and the public generally to track the progress and return of precinct ballots on election night. As stated above, there are many ballots left to add into the count in the coming weeks.
