Shasta County announces that Laura Burch, Director of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), will be on leave starting Monday, September 16, 2024, for a planned medical event. Ms. Burch will return to her role once medically approved to do so.
Shasta County wishes Ms. Burch a smooth recovery and looks forward to her return.
As the Director of the HHSA, Ms. Burch oversees a wide range of vital services to support the well-being of Shasta County residents. Her leadership ensures that the Agency continues to provides critical support and resources to the community.
In Ms. Burch’s absence, senior staff have been briefed and will assist in maintaining agency operations. The Shasta County Administrative Office (CAO) is working closely with HHSA to ensure that all essential functions and services continue without interruption.
Christy Coleman, the Assistant Director of HHSA, will serve as Acting Director during this
period, providing leadership and support to the agency’s ongoing projects and initiatives.
Shasta County appreciates the community’s understanding and support as Ms. Burch focuses on her health and recovery.
