Shasta College To Hold Annual “Harvest Fest” Showcase and Fundraising Event

Shasta College will hold its annual fall showcase and fundraiser, “Harvest Fest” at The Shasta College Farm, 11555 Old Oregon Trail on Saturday, October 28, 2023, starting with tours at 5:00 p.m. “Harvest Fest” proceeds directly support students in the Agriculture, Natural Resources, Horticulture, and Heavy Equipment Operations programs.

The event kicks off with tours of the Shasta College Agriculture, Horticulture, Logging, Heavy Equipment Operations, and Natural Resource program areas starting at 5:00 p.m. Tours will be narrated by students and feature presentations on what students are learning in the different educational programs. The rest of the festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. and include delicious, locally grown food, dancing with live music, and a silent and live auction. On the menu again this year is Shasta College-grown whole roasted pig and chickens and locally grown produce.

The proceeds from this event directly benefit students by funding lab projects, farm dorm improvements, logging sports, equipment purchases, and livestock improvements, which support student access to quality educational experiences.

Tickets can be purchased in advance ($40 per person) or at the door ($50 per person). Ticket prices are for all ages and can be purchased from Shasta College Agriculture, Horticulture, Heavy Equipment, and Natural Resources faculty and students, or online from Eventbrite at shastacollege-harvestfest2023.eventbrite.com. Table sponsorships are available for $800 by contacting Leimone or Audra.
