This Fall, the Shasta College Theatre Department presents a contemporary coming-of-age play examining identity, politics, and loss as seen through the dizzying whirl of adolescent attitudes, anxieties, and vulnerability of a women’s soccer team in The Wolves.
Playwright Sarah De-Lappe invites the audience inside the confidential circle of her teenage athletes to paint a picture of female camaraderie in its most authentic form. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of nine, adolescent American girls who ultimately just want to kick, pass, and score some goals.
Performance dates are October 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Shasta College Theatre, with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. on October 15 and 22. For this production the audience sits on stage right next to the action, creating a unique and exciting audience experience. Please be advised that The Wolves contains strong language and mature themes; discretion is advised.
Tickets can be purchased for $15 general admission, $10 seniors, $5 students, and are available at www.shastacollege.edu/ArtsEvents or by calling the box office at 530-242-7573.
