Live Entertainment in the North State: June 22 – 28

I don’t think I’ve ever made a shot of me the featured photo in this column–maybe as part of a band, but not all by myself. So, seven years after Doni’s green light for this column, I decided it was my turn, doggone it. I’ll be playing a solo show this Wednesday at Cicada Cantina, starting at 6:30 pm. Come Friday, I’ll be playing at Fratelli’s Pizza Parlor, starting at 7 pm. C’mon out to witness one of my folk/folk-rock/alt-country shows. I’ve been told that I clean up good.

Mosiac Restaurant is adding a Monday music night, Taroko Redding an occasional Tuesday night, and Cicada Cantina is adding a regular Wednesday music night to the mix. Heck, Thursdays have already been busy since pandemic restrictions eased–sometimes busier than weekends. Our weekday music scene is getting more robust in the north state. Enjoy, and thanks for supporting local artists.

Hal Johnson

Born and raised in Ventura County, Hal Johnson moved to Shasta County in 1994. After a 38 year career flying helicopters, he can now sometimes be spotted around the North State singing and wrestling his guitar into submission. He always feels funny writing about himself in the third person. Contact him at shastalivemusic@gmail.com.
