On April 27, 2020, at approximately 0440 hours, officers with the Redding Police Department responded to Goodwill, which is located at 1643 Hilltop Drive, regarding a possible burglary in progress.
Officers received the call from an off-site security company who observed three suspects inside of the business on their surveillance system.
Officers quickly arrived in the area and detained Lacee Waers, 31 years of Redding, Daniel Wallace, 32 years of Redding, and Timothy Bailey, 37 years of Redding, who were seen running in the area of the business and who matched the description of the suspects.
During the investigation, officers determined the suspects gained entry to the business from an exterior roll-up door. Two of the suspects then handed merchandise to the third suspect, who had stepped outside of the roll-up door. Video surveillance images were obtained from the off-site company and the three suspects were confirmed as having been inside of the business.
Property located at the scene was later booked into evidence, and the suspects were booked into the Shasta County Jail for commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and conspiracy of the aforementioned crimes. Timothy Bailey is currently on parole for burglary and was also booked for a parole violation.
