A Shasta County resident who has been hospitalized in Sacramento County for other health issues has tested positive for COVID-19. It is believed that he contracted the virus in an area with known community transmission.
The patient is a man in his 60s. The Shasta County Health Officer and communicable disease team are working to identify close contacts and implement necessary quarantine orders.
