SCSO Records and Civil Units Services Changed in Response to COVID-19

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has been working in conjunction with the Public Health Division of Health and Human Services (HHSA) to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and other viruses.

The Sheriff’s Office Records and Civil Units will be cancelling the following public services for the next two weeks or until further notice.

Effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, those services include:

New CCW applications, including related fingerprinting and scheduled interviews;
All fingerprinting services;
Requests for Criminal Reports at the window; and
All other miscellaneous services and requests.

The Records Unit will continue to provide the following public services:

CCW Renewals;
Vehicle Releases;
Repossessions;
290 PC Registrant services;
All Civil Services (Open contingent upon Shasta County Superior Court-Civil Division operation); and
Requests for Criminal Reports via mail or email (With attached copy of State-issued photo ID).

The Civil Unit window hours of operation will be reduced to 11a-3p M-Th; 8a-12p Friday. Drop boxes with instructions and information will be available to the public in the Records Lobby for various services. If you have any questions, please contact the Records Unit at (530) 245-6000.
