The Tony Faith Band plays Bleachers Sports Bar and Grill on Friday, January 24.

I suspect many folks know this, but somehow it got by me that The Dip, one of Redding’s leading music venues, was resurrected from Serendipity on Lake Boulevard. Serendipity was my favorite place to hang out, drink coffee, and do a little writing back when. It turns out that a band playing at The Dip this Wednesday, Criteria, played at Serendipity, “the old Dip,” in 2006. I’m going to try to be there Wednesday evening for their return.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for supporting our local live entertainment scene.

    Hi, Hal,
I used to go to Serendipity to hear Hawks and Eagles, Nancy and Jimmy Borsdorff, from Chico. Their. program was varied and most entertaining. One of Nancy’s instruments was a banjo mandolin. I told her that I’d inherited one, it was very heavy with all its steel. She recommended that I remove 4 strings, for easier fingering. Never did that, haven’t played it. Played the fiddle for about 30 years. Banjomando is having neck reset by Bruce at The Music Connection, then will be on consignment. So glad you gave us the connection of The Dip with Serendipity.
