On January 16, 2020 at approximately 0545 hours, Redding Police Officers responded to the 3600 block of Magnums Way for a call of a subject smashing out windows to a residence and a vehicle with a shovel. Officers learned the suspect later identified as Allen Silva, 36 years old of Redding, had smashed out the front window of a residence and then attempted to rob a female victim of her cell phone and vehicle keys. The victim was able to run back to her residence and call 911 as the subject turned and started striking her vehicle’s windows with the shovel.

Officers contacted Silva who is on parole and was still in possession of the shovel upon their arrival. Silva admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine and was booked for attempted robbery, vandalism and violation of parole.

Be nice if Ms. Bridget’s (sp) operation wouldn’t plead this down to a non-violent felony. He was armed, which makes prison commitment an 85% of sentence proposition once committed to CDCR. Maybe he can rethink his approach dodging shot-callers on a Level IV prison yard.
