Jon Lewis: “While out on a mini photo safari in the spring of 2019, I was walking across Diestelhorst Bridge when I spotted this Canada goose casually perched on the cement railing. I was fairly sure he (or she) would move along before I got very close but he/she apparently decided the view was worth sharing with strangers and stayed put while I snapped a few pictures, including this one where the goose looked right into the lens.
“I like this picture because A) it’s an iconic Redding view (at certain times of the year, if you squint a bit you can pretend you live in Vail, Colo.); B) it shows a bit of charred remains from the Carr Fire, making it appropriate for the auction; and C) the two folks fishing show that recovery from the fire is well on its way.”
Printed on a ready-to-hang 11″ x 14″ canvas.
Value: $125.00.
Starting bid $35.00.
Auction bidding will begin Mon. Jan. 6, and will conclude Thur. Jan. 9.
