Redding native and former professional football player Ryan O’Callaghan will speak in Redding on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Shasta College. The presentation begins at 5:30 p.m. in Room 400. This event is open to the public and admission is FREE.
After spending six seasons in the NFL, O’Callaghan retired from the game and eventually became honest with himself and the world. He came out as gay and wrote a book entitled “My Life on the Line: How the NFL Damn Near Killed Me and Ended Up Saving My Life.” A question-and-answer session will follow his speech.
The event on January 10th is being sponsored by the Shasta-Tehama-Trinity County Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). For more details, contact Don Yost at (530) 241-8421.
