This Fall the Shasta College Theatre Department is excited to announce production of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men. Based on events that took place at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in 1986, A Few Good Men pits military lawyers against one another in a court martial to uncover high-level conspiracy resulting in the murder of a United States Marine. In a riveting courtroom drama that investigates the nature of our military mentality and the Marine Corps code of honor, Navy lawyers Lt. Cmdr. Joanne Galloway and Lt. Daniel Kaffee find themselves asking complex questions of honor, duty, and humanity that demand an answer. A Few Good Men premiered on Broadway in 1989; a successful film starring Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Jack Nicholson was released in 1992.
Auditions for A Few Good Men will be held August 27th and 28th at 6pm in the Shasta College Theatre. Please prepare a one minute dramatic monologue and meet in the theatre lobby at 6pm. All levels of dramatic experience are encouraged and welcomed, and audition materials can be provided.
Please note: Local veteran of the stage John Welsh has been precast as a featured actor for this production portraying the iconic Colonel Nathan Jessup.
