Health Careers Exploration Summer Institute (HESI) is a three week summer institute providing high school students the opportunity to discover if they are interested in a healthcare career. The program runs from July 9th-July 26th and is comprised of 15 north state high school students, 16 years old or older, from the following high schools: Corning, Enterprise, Foothill, U-prep, Red Bluff, Shasta, Central Valley, Anderson New Tech and West Valley. Each day students spend time in the classroom with Tom Safford, the Medical Pathway, Medical Biology, and Medical Anatomy and Physiology instructor at West Valley High School. The program is hosted by Shasta College. Students will receive 1 credit from Shasta College for their active participation in the summer institute.
