Redding Electric Utility (REU) has received reports of persons misrepresenting themselves as REU employees attempting to sell solar systems door-to-door. These people are wearing REU attire or pins and may state they are representing REU. The reports have come from the Silver Creek and Carriage Glen neighborhoods in Southeast Redding. Customers are advised not to purchase solar systems from such individuals. Sales persons misrepresenting themselves as REU employees or wearing REU attire should be reported to City of Redding Utility Customer Service at 339-7200 as soon as possible.
REU does not sell solar systems or solicit customers door-to-door. Customers who are interested in solar are advised to visit our website at reupower.com or call 339-7200 and ask for a solar specialist. Solar rebates vouchers are still available through October 31, 2017.
