In Congruence - Tangelos & Vines by Chunhong Chang
Artistic creativity was apparent in both of these artists very early in their lives. Coming from completely different backgrounds, their common bond is that each found a way to express creativity and their own history in very personal ways.
A native of Taiwan, Chunhong Chang was an avid painter at the early age of six. Schooling in a Vocational Art High School encouraged technique mastery, and after graduating from the National Hsinchu Teachers College for Art, and teaching in public schools, she opened her own art school. Later, Chunhong left teaching to pursue her art full-time and earned a Masters Degree in Art from CSU Chico. Her current focus is a beautiful blend of Classical Oriental and European painting.
Natural Edge Cherry Bowl by Judith Clever
From childhood, Judith Clever was fascinated with the inherent artistic qualities in wood. A Christmas gift of a small toolbox and some wood began the child’s creative exploration. It continued into high school, where she crafted jewelry from redwood and myrtle. After working in Maintenance with the California State Parks System for 25 years, surrounded by majestic trees, it was natural that her creativity would later emerge in the wonderfully elegant wood-turned art she produces today.
