On Monday August 30, 2016 at 5:49 pm officers from the Redding Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery that occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 830 East Cypress Ave.
Officers learned a white male suspect entered the bank and showed a note to the teller demanding money. An undisclosed amount of money was given to the suspect and he fled on foot from the bank. He was last seen heading west. An extensive search, utilizing the CHP helicopter and a Redding Police K9 was conducted, but the suspect was not found.
The suspect was described as being between the ages of 20 and 40, wearing a dark baseball hat, a red plaid button up shirt with a white tee shirt underneath, dark shorts that reached his knees, about 5’9” tall and thin. He had brown hair, possibly pulled into a pony tail, and was unshaven.
