Sheriff’s Office Seeks Information About Homicide

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is requesting information regarding the homicide of Victim, Rick Michael Forbes, 64 years old of Grants Pass Oregon. Secret Witness of Shasta County is now offering up to a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the responsible(s).

On Friday, August 12, 2016, at approximately 1:00 P.M., Shasta County Sheriff’s deputies and medical personnel were dispatched to the TA Truck Stop located at 19483 Knighton Road, Redding CA for a welfare check as Forbes had not checked in with his company or had been heard from by family. Upon arrival of medical personnel, Forbes was found deceased inside his semi-truck. Forbes death has been determined to be a result of a homicide. Please understand that details about the means and manner of death will not be released for the integrity of the investigation.

Detectives from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Major Crimes Unit, are asking for the public’s help. Detectives are requesting information from anyone who was (or knows of anyone that was) at the TA Truck Stop in Redding, CA, between Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 9:00 P.M., through Friday, August 12, 2016, at 1:00 P.M.
