The California Department of Transportation, Caltrans District 2, has installed a new right turn option at the Bonnyview-Interstate 5 southbound offramp in South Redding. Drivers will see the new signs and pavement arrows allowing for the option of turning right from either the left lane or the existing right turn lane.
A second “right hand turn” option was created after observation of recent backups in the area. “Traffic using the exit ramp was backing up on the freeway during the morning commute and this was a simple way to add space for more vehicles,” said Rob Stinger, Caltrans Traffic Engineering and Operations Chief.
