The 11th Annual Anderson Century Bicycle Ride, a fundraiser for Lions Clubs, is being held on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Online registration is available at andersoncentury.com or at your bike shop. The web site contains course maps and details about the event.
The Anderson Century has riders from the local area and throughout California, Oregon, Nevada and Washington. Riders enjoy the 27, 40, 60 or 100 mile rides, starting and finishing at Anderson River Park. Longer routes climb through the foothills of southeastern Shasta County. The Enterprise Lions Club and other volunteer clubs provide service for the riders including rest stops with snacks, drinks and lunch. All riders enjoy a meal at the park when completing the ride.
Area businesses sponsoring the ride include Tri Counties Bank, Safeway, Ron Mino DDS, Donald Rhodes OD, Forcella Wealth Management, along with many others who donate. Profits help area Lions Clubs with numerous community projects including youth and senior needs. Rider fees increase for those registering after May 9, 2015.
